Amber
Heard is bouncing off the walls, it is 9:30 and she has places to
go people to see. Her cell is ringing constantly, her friends want
to know where she is, they are going out and she is feeling the
pressure, the need to join them. " I am so sorry about this,
now what were talking about?" Her cell phone interrupts again.
" That's it, I'm turning it off, I promise." She switches
off the phone and turns her attention back to SideFx and
her character Shay. "Shay was fun because she was different
from the roles I tend to get. I always get the "all American"
looking blonde role, it's cool I mean that's my look, and I could
have played Shay that way I suppose, but Patrick the director he
had all the looks already picked out and was very specific about
the type of character Shay was. They had me in dark eyeliner and
crazy punk clothes, the chick had attitude, I dug that. I have to
admit I was freaked at first I mean her make-up is extreme, I remember
once seeing myself in the mirror and thinking, shit I look like
a friggin' porn star or a drag queen, but it works in the film,
it doesn't look that bad. I barely wear any make-up in real life,
so that may have added to the shock."
Amber
has been busy lately and it's no wonder she is a ball of energy
and quick wit and it's easy to see why casting agents like her but
SideFx was her first horror film. "SideFx was a fun film to
shoot but it was a lot of work with lots of blood and I mean lots
of blood. And trust me it's tough being covered in blood for 12
hours a day, or I should say a night, because it was for the most
part a night shoot. But it was worth it. Shay was the voice of reason,
she wanted to help her friend Tuesday (Amanda Phillips) but she
was also quite aware of the reality of what was going on. She was
like "screw it let's get out of here" which is honest,
I mean isn't that what most people would be like?" She looks
around the Cafe. "I can relate to that kind of honesty, you
dial 911 and try to save yourself. It's not wrong, it's reality
and that was Shay."
Amber
Heard was born and raised in Austin Texas. Her theater background
began in high school with Shakespeare's The Tempest, and led to
a tenacious pursuit of acting. Shortly after, with the help of local
agency Acclaim Talent, she quickly built her acting resume to include
roles in the films Suzy Pickles, Levelland, and Pieces of A Girl,
to name a few. Her more recent work includes roles in the films
Friday Night Lights, Drop Dead Sexy and North Country. Check

Always looking to expand her repertoire, she eagerly embraced the
character Shay in Patrick Johnson's Side FX. In contrast to earlier
work, Shay presented multiple challenges in character interpretation.
She will also begin filming a television series on the WB network
in Los Angeles this summer.
